Any other Southern Hemisphere mamas here?

This summer is killing me! My house is a hotbox and I’ve got a grumpy sweaty toddler 🥵 how are you staying cool?

We’re 2.5hrs from the beach (country QLD) so I had my husband drive me there on the public holiday Monday as a treat and our last travelling outing before bub arrives. Got stung by bluebottles and pretty burnt from the reflection off the sand while sitting under a shade tent covered in sunscreen, so needless to say I’m pretty pissed 🤣 
Cold showers a few times a day to cool the core body temperature, ice in everything and minimal clothing as possible!

Weeks on end of 40 degrees 😡😡😡 sooooo flipping over it!!! Im near Newcastle. A few hours away from Sydney, about 50 km in land every meter away from the beach is hotter. I have to very active kids. Almost 4 and 2 that act like wild animals when they have to stay inside, and 33 weeks +2 pregnant trying to keep my feet from ballooning. Roll on winter!!!!!

I’ve been sleeping with an ice pack that I swap with a fresh one at about 2am - I’m awake anyways...
I am lucky to live near the beach so I try and swim each morning before it gets hot and before the blue bottles arrive.
Other than that I’m taking cold showers and using face washers and wearing as little as possible!

I wish I had warm weather it’s currently 5 degrees where I live and we are in the midst of a darn blizzard
