My mom is very self centred! I am married and obviously no longer living at home but I still pay all the bills in my mum’s house because my mum does not have a job. Anytime I ask my mum to please babysit my son while I go to work, she makes one excuse or another. One time she asked me to pay her to babysit if I wanted her to cancel the occasion that she had to attend so she could babysit. I thought that she was joking but she meant it! I explained to her that childcare costs are too high and that’s why I need her help to look after my baby so I can still save some money. She said and I quote “stop working then. Your child should be more important than your job. Stay home and look after him if you can no longer afford to pay for childcare”. I was shocked!

Funny thing is the next day, she sent me a message with a list of things that she wants me to buy for her. Again, with my own money. She finds it easy to ask ask ask and ask for me to buy or help financially but she can’t help to look after her grandchild.
