Does your partner put an act up in front of friends and coworkers?

My husband wants to make himself look like a main man in front of people.

I'm tired of him using me as the scapegoat when he wants to leave a party or something. He tells people that *I'm* the one who wants to go, makes me look like the loser.

Like we just got a new phones, and he insisted on getting this phone contract that costs double than what he was paying because he WANTED that phone. It's more expensive than my phone.

I go to his work yesterday and his coworker asks me why did I force him to get a new phone. I'm like what? No, my husband told her that I went behind his back and took out new contracts.

And I'm furious. HE'S the one who has been asking for a new phone, and HE'S the one who refused to budge and get a cheaper phone. And I couldn't go behind his back because the cellphone company called him and spoke to him on the phone to confirm the order which he did!

It makes me angry that he does this and I've spoken to him about this. It makes me look controlling and bossy and all sorts.

Does anyone else's partner do this?
