Midwife or OBGYN?

I had two negative experiences with midwives this pregnancy before finally getting assigned to the perfect OB. I don’t think it was the difference in training though, just the difference in person.My point is, it probably depends more on the person than the level of medical training. My OB is actually more patient & would only consider a section for an emergency, whereas my midwives both talked about scheduled inductions and possible sections. Research helped me find the right fit.

I’d like to use a midwife, but because I am hoping to VBAC I have to use an OB for a hospital birth. If I am able to VBAC this time I will consider a birth center with a midwife next time, if we can afford the out of pocket expenses since our insurance won’t cover it.

I had an OB with my first, and a midwife this time around. I’ve enjoyed both.

I don't actually understand what an OBGYN is 🤷‍♀️ can someone explain it to me? In the UK we just have midwives for births

I loved my midwife I had with my daughter and I love my Obgyn we have this time 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s all a matter of finding the right person.
