Where does your baby sleep

Question

Every time I talk to my mom she’s always asking is my daughter sleeping in her crib yet and the answer is always no. My son still sleeps in bed with us and he’s 3 yes it’s a tight squeeze but we always manage. Just wanted to get perspective on everyone’s thoughts about sleeping with your kids or having them in the crib.

I don’t judge what other parents do, but my bed is for my husband and I.  That relationship needs just as much nurturing and love.  Our kids have their own beds in their own room.  We’re about to have a second baby and he will be in a bassinet next to my side of the bed for six months.

Our bed is for me and my husband, we didn’t want our daughter there too. We also like being able to put her to bed in her own room and not have to worry about us or our animals waking her up constantly. When she was on our room in a pack n play, she slept horribly. I can’t imagine if she would have been in our bed.

I did it with my first son and will not with my second son coming in April. I don't think it's "wrong" but it seemed to create a lot of codependency when he was older and it was hard to break that.

Our son was mostly in his Halo until 5.5 months, being held upright after every feed, and then laid down in it, with the occasional safe sleep bedsharing because Momma was tired. Our mattress is on the floor, as that is safest for us. From 6-9 months, he was in his crib for 60-80% of the night, usually bedshared from 3:30 or 4 AM. Around 10 months, he started refusing to sleep in his crib, screaming like he was being hurt. He would cry and escalate his crying until he puked (which meant cleaning the sheets night after night). We have bedshared exclusively since then, and he goes to sleep on our bed easily about 3 hours before we go to bed and typically only has one wake up now. We are working towards having him sleep on his crib mattress next to our bed, and we will move him downstairs into his nursery when the weather is better.

We coslept with our daughter until she about 1 1/2, then put her in her converted crib, she now sleeps in there until around 2am then makes her way into our bed again. 
With #2 I was looking into getting a halo bassinet because we don’t want to make the same mistake again 😂 and there’s no room in our queen for another person! 😳

My son used to sleep with us but I couldn’t take it anymore. I was always uncomfortable! I transitioned him to his crib and I don’t even know what to do with all of this space lol

Our daughter has been sleeping in her nursery (in her crib) since she was six months old, she is 15 months now. That was our goal, to get her in her crib at six months. My husband and I did not want to start the habit of bedsharing so that we would not have to break it.🤷🏾‍♀️ However, that was our personal preference. That's why we used the Dockatot for naps during the day, instead of co-sleeping. We just did not want to bedshare. However, we do understand that parents do whatever they think is best for them. Bedsharing just did not sound like a good idea to us. Our daughter slept in her Halo Bassinet until she was about three months. It was easier to have her in our bedroom with us as a newborn, especially breastfeeding. She stopped waking up to be nursed around three months and she started to outgrow the Halo, but we still were not quite ready to move her to her nursery yet. So we started using one of her pack-n-plays as a co-sleeper until six months. At six months, we moved her to her nursery.

I could slept until 6months I'm just now trying to get him to stop nursing at night and sleep in his crib. Last night after crying a bit he slept all night without waking a single time to feed. It think it's easier when he's not right beside me because then the food isn't around to wake him up constantly 😂
