My first and only child has a severe developmental disability and we just started trying for another baby. I’m a nervous wreck of excitement and worry. Did you do genetic testing for the second? Did you worry about have another medically complex kiddo? Did you worry about having a neurotypical kiddo and how their relationship would be with your first?

My daughter who has a rare genetic condition is 10, I have always worried about having another, finally I decided that just because she has this doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to be a big sister, and doesn't mean my new baby will have any issues. She is physically challenged and delayed, and she is so stinkin excited. I am currently 13 weeks, single mom so I have just ensured I am setting up all the help of resources I can get until a routine is the established. I felt really guilty for a long time about having more kids and taking attention away from her, but she deserves siblings. I did just get some testing done for some but the condition my daughter has, will have to wait for testing until baby is born
