Makeup lessons?

I feel a little embarrassed writing this seeing as I'm a grown wife and mother....who has no idea about makeup. I grew up in an abusive home with all kinds of self esteem problems and gave up early on using makeup.

I'm very good at eye shadow but hardly wear it. I wear glasses and often feel like what's the point of eye shadow if people can hardly see it. Once in a while I'll put a little color on lips but that's it.

If I wear any more I feel like I look like a clown.

My hubby is happy with no makeup but there are sometime when we go out on a date or I have an important work meeting that it would be nice to know how to dress my face up a little. I think it's foundation I struggle with the most.

Various times throughout my life I've tried...once I went to the mall and tried to get help from the makeup saleswoman and it looked scary...I mentioned to my hairdresser that I wished I could have makeup lesson and she acted like I was crazy...

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions (besides just watching YouTube) of where I could go to learn about the best makeup for me specifically and how to apply it?
