Bringing older sibling to anatomy scan?

Is this a thing? We have a 2.5 year old.. are they allowed in?! I would love for him to be there but not sure...

I brought my 2 year old (14 month) yesterday it’s a long appointment so just make sure you have snacks and a book or something. My son was fine through it. He also had 3 grandparents and my husband there to keep him entertained lol

It depends on your service provider - some will allow it and some won’t so its best to call in advance. 
The anatomy scan can take more than an hour though, which is a long time for a 2.5 year old to sit still and they probably won’t care after a few minutes, so I wouldn’t personally recommend it.

Ask first if its ok. Where I go said up to 1 person and no unsupervised kids. However it was up to the tech and she allowed both my husband and our 8yr old son to come in. My son loved seeing his soon to be little sister, and thought it was cool to see all her body parts look like a skeleton(as he said it lol).

I brought my 9 year old to my 12 week ultrasound and he got bored after 5 minutes. I would never bring a toddler because your anatomy scan lasts about an hour and their attention span just isn’t there yet. It’s a small room and the tech needs to concentrate to make sure your baby is safe and heathy.

My son was allowed in and it was about an hour. Just call ahead of time to make sure. He did really well, just bring lots of snacks and something that will entertain them for a while.

I think they might be. I always thought they wouldn’t be allowed near ultrasounds because of radiation or something, well at my anatomy scan I was talking with the tech and she thanked me for not bringing my toddler, apparently they get antsy a lot it’s so boring and rooms pretty small. My anatomy scan took over an hour so I was glad I didn’t take her too lol.

My first (age 2) came to my second's anatomy scan. My husband was there too to hold her, but I think She would have been ok with just me. She participated in all the prenatal appointments with the midwives too. I've had my older kids to earlier scans and everyone was fine with it (8/7/4/2 yo at this point). It's not like I had a choice, I can't get childcare for every appointment.

I took my 6 year old son and 9 year old daughter. Husband came too. Brought the kids tablets and they were well behaved for once lmao
