I’m 12 days late... could I be pregnant?

I took a test on Monday and it was negative... this is our first month of trying and having unprotected sex. My period has never been late before, I’ve been having symptoms but I’m getting negatives... like what the hell. I’ve got a doctors appt on Saturday but has anyone ever gotten a positive past 12 days late..?
