Sisters nearly 6 years apart

My oldest is 5, and she will be 6 in August. My due date is in June, so my daughters will be 5 years and 10 months apart, which is pretty much a 6 year age gap. Will they be close? Can they be close? I know this mainly depends on their personalities, but I am a little worried they won’t have some kind of close bond as sisters since they’re pretty far apart in age and will never go to the same school together.

I have an identical twin sister, so we’ve always went through every milestone together. That being said, we have completely different personalities, and we were not super close but still bonded in a lot of ways being the exact same age. I love my sister of course, but let’s put it this way, if we weren’t sisters, we wouldn’t be friends lol. I also have two younger sisters. One is seven years younger than me(different mom), and the other is eleven years younger than me(different dad). Sadly, I didn’t live with either of them, only my twin sister, but that’s a whole other story.

If you have a sister or sisters 5/6 years apart, were you/they close at all? If you have daughters 5/6 years apart, how are they together? Do they bond or have similar interests? Does it get harder when the oldest one gets into her preteens? Do they do anything together at all at that point? Is there a point where they just drift apart?

Of course my daughter is ecstatic about her baby sister, and I can’t wait to see them together! I just really hope they will be somewhat close, closer than I was with my sisters even. I just hope that’s not asking for too much. Thank you for reading❤️
