So, I’m weaning my 3 mo old off of my nipple shields. He’s able to latch on much better but I’ve noticed he eats faster without it. Anyone experience that? I’m wondering if it’s easier for him to get the milk without it or if he’s stopping early bc he doesn’t like it.

He made my right nipple bleed one night bc my boob was too engorged for him to latch properly. I’ve been using the shield on my right side until it heals. He usually takes both breasts at one feeding and even when I start him on the left (with no shield) he will eat for 4 min and then the right (w/ shield) he will eat for 8 min or so as usual.

I think he does prefer my right breast tho... it is bigger than my left and seems to have more milk supply. So maybe that’s why?

Trying to decide if I should keep using them or not and maybe try weaning him off of them later on.
