Anyone else a late bloomer???

Question

So I decided I’m going to get my license this year. Which is long overdue 😣 I tried twice when I was 17 and failed. I’m now 21 and relying on others is definitely not something I want to do for the rest of my life. Anyways I’m reading the handbook but are there any tips I should know? Involving the test or driving in general? Anyone else a late bloomer 😂?

When i was 18 i got my permit while living in mi came back to my home state (tn) they said i had to get some kind of paper to get my liscense so i just never cared to get the paper , had a child and about a year later didnt even mention my past permit so did my permit over again and got my liscense i was about 20 or 21 now i drive like ive always had my liscense and i just got them renewed so i guess ive had them 4 or 5 yrs idk

For the written test they have a lot of practice test you can take i would recommend those & for the actual driving test you should look up what are the automatic fails because if i remember correctly you can get marked 15 points i think an automatic fail is -15 points & everything think else is -1 -2 or -3 point ( i think ) when i took driving lesson my teacher had me focus mostly on those because he said it’s actually really hard to get marked enough points  to fail unless you do a big no no ( automatic fail ) lol like hitting a curb, running a red light , not looking over your shoulder before EVERY lane change or when entering a bike lane ( usually at corners )

Im 22 still don’t know how to drive my dad tried teaching me once but i ended up crashing into the wooden patio of the apartment next to ours, almost gave my dad an asthma attack and that was the first and last teaching of driving for me

I didn’t get mine until I was 19. If you’re going for your permit I would recommend going on to the dmv site reading the chapters they tell you the test is on and doing the practice quizzes. You’re road test just make sure you know your turn signals, parallel parking and a 3 point turn.

Take your time, take deep breaths before all the tests, take lots of practice tests including driving tests (pretend like you are in the test and whoever is driving with you is the instructor) maybe practice with someone you aren’t as familiar with like a fam friend. Stop look left-right-left wait longer and then proceed. Do you have to parallel park? 
For the theory test, I had to study a lot and remember all the distances and all (how far you can park from a fire hydrant) stuff like that. I remember lots of questions about parking on hills and all too. This was awhile ago tho. I think online they have a ton or resources now. I would study a ton...
