Am I Being Shallow?

Hi girls.

Almost 3 months ago, I met my first (official) boyfriend and things have been going great with us. He's made me feel things I've never felt before, and I trust him very much. I lost my virginity to him, and I'm already close with his mom and a few other family members. I feel accepted and loved for the very first time, and I'm very thankful for him and his love every day ❤️.

But... Something's been bothering me. So, he bought me a beautiful mermaid sterling silver and pearl necklace for Christmas, and I've been wearing it every day ever since. He's also given me many other gifts. Anyway, at the beginning of our relationship I remember him telling me about how he didn't really care for the idea of marriage, and that it was 'just a piece of paper'; and I remember how that hurt me knowing that we both want a serious relationship. I didn't say anything then. A few days ago the topic of rings came up, and I was looking at gorgeous rings and fantasising (as girls do) and he told me he doesn't believe in promise rings for starters, which made me lead to the assumption that he didn't care for a wedding/engagement band either. He also told me that IF he ever were to buy one he would get something very basic and with one moissanite stone instead of diamonds (which are way cheaper and prettier?). But THAT'S the problem here!!! In my heart, that really disappoints me... Am I being too shallow to expect my boyfriend of (almost) 3 months to get me anything more expensive? Am I not worth enough to buy diamonds for? I know it's WAAAYY too early in our relationship to be thinking about, and obviously I wasn't being as serious with him as I am on here.

I just need some opinions and maybe some guidance. Please don't think I'm angry at my boyfriend or anything! It made me feel like he didn't love me as much, especially when he doesn't hesitate to buy new tech software (that he doesn't need 😑😑) every week.
