Should her umbilical cord be detaching already ? She’s 8 days old. I’m worried because every one I have talked to says they should be super thin before they fall off.

Nah, looks okay. Every baby and cord is different. My daughter's didn't fall off till 2 weeks. No biggy, it'll fall off when it's ready. But if the skin around appears red or swollen or if it oozes, definitely take her in.

It can take up to 2 wks to fall off. My oldest child’s fell off at exactly 14 days old. Totally normal.

Looks perfectly fine. My second daughters was slowly starting to detach and one day after I changed her diaper, I picked her up so I could lay her sleeper down, laid her down and her umbilical cord was gone. I looked everywhere just to see that it was attached to my shirt which means, it got stuck and ripped off. Doctor wasn’t concerned as long as it wasn’t bleeding when it happened. Just keep cleaning around the belly button area and it’ll eventually start to shrivel up more!

Dr said it normally takes 10days. My sons fell off at 10days.

It’s totally okay, I have 6 kids and all of their cords came off at different times. One came off at only 3 days old. Just keep it clean with alcohol and a q-tip around the base of it and it’ll be just fine. Don’t worry, it sounds like you’re doing a great job!
