Husband just got the flu, do I clean the house now or wait for him to get better?

I don’t know if it’s pointless to clean now because he will still be contaminating things. Please let me know what you would do!

I'm not sure I'd consider it alarming to think your house isn't disinfected daily, but doing so would certainly help minimize the sickness.
I would keep hand sanitizer around, and insist that everyone use it regularly.  At work illness is spread quickly and consistently.  We keep hand sanitizer everywhere.  I refuse to touch my face without using it.  Of course even after washing my hands I use it after the restroom.  We also take vitamin C daily.   But I work in a place where sickness is a normal part of life.
I would up the disinfecting, especially the hot spots.  Door knobs, light switches, faucets, surfaces near where he hangs out, remote controls.  I would take vitamin C.  I would put a few pump bottles of hand sanitizer in common areas and use it before touching your face, or in his case, every chance he got.
So that's it.  Hand sanitizer and vitamin C.  Good luck.
