My due date was 1/25 and he arrived 1/26. Went in on the 25th for my weekly appointment, had my dr do a membrane sweep. I went to mall and walked around for a couple hours. Started having contractions that night but they were light and didnt think much about them since I was having inconsistent contractions all week. Woke up at 3 in the morning because they were getting a little more intense but far apart. Tried to go back to sleep but by 6 they were to intense to ignore. I started timing them, they were lasting 45 seconds every 3-3.5 minutes. At first I thought they Braxton hicks because I could only feel them in my back and in my pelvis. I didnt experience the "tightening" feeling that others explain or the wave of the contraction starting at the top and moving down. It felt like extreme menstrual cramps. I showered and headed to the hospital at 8:30. when I got their they made me walk for an hour trying to get the contractions stronger. 10 rolls around and they get me into a room. At this point my they're unbearable and I get the epidural at 11:30. They push pitocin at 2:30 trying to get baby to drop more. They talked about breaking my water but I was absolutely against it. They did it with my first one and it stressed the baby out so I told them I'm not allowing an ARM to be done. My water broke on its own at 3:20. There was meconium so they checked to see how dilated I was. I was ready to push, at this point the epidural isn't working anymore and I can feel every contraction. They want to do a practice push, and he started crowning. They told me to stop pushing but with every contraction he was coming out, I wasnt pushing him. By the time the Dr. Arrived his head was half way out, she had me do one more push and he was born at 3:43.
