My induction story & birth photos

Me

I’m a first time mom, and starting about 37 weeks + i started getting super swollen in my face, feet and hands and my blood pressure was slowly rising. I was monitoring it at home and it got bad three different tomes when I went into labor and delivery for more monitoring. Each time they sent me home and I was so frustrated and done. Finally at my 39 week appt they checked my blood pressure, and dilation. I was a two and after seeing my blood pressure and swelling my doc finally decided to induce me. THE NEXT MORNING! At 6:30 AM I went into the hospital. By 7:30 I was checked in and started on pitocin. Contractions were no big deal until 8:30 when my doc broke my water. Almost immediately they got pretty painful and by 10:00 I got my epidural. At 10:30 I was checked, and was at a 3. I wasn’t checked again until 1:00 when i was already a 10! we were all shocked and I called my doula and birth photographer panicking to come ASAP! I had told them I’d let them know when I was at a 5 so they could come then and not spend all day with me, but I progressed way faster than anyone expected. My baby aas still up high so i had to lay with the peanut ball for about an hour and a half until 3 when the doctor arrived and i began pushing. My sweet baby boy was born at 3:39 PM, only 37 min of pushing and very minimal 2nd degree tearing. I am so happy with my birth experience and baby, I can’t wait to do it all again! I totally miss being pregnant and my baby is only 3 weeks old lol.
