Newborn Photos

When should I plan for newborn photos? We still have a week and half before our induction date, so I'm not really in a rush. But with my first, I didn't even think about it and just happened to get family portraits and "newborn" photos done when he was like a month old. I know my husband is going to want Native American themed photos so, I'll probably have to pre book someone capable of doing it and I have no idea how far out to book so she won't look awkward from birth. Also, what are prices typically like if it's a decent newborn photographer?
