When I was younger my gramma made me add a capful of bleach to the dishwater.

When I asked why she said to get the dishes clean because soap doesn’t get the job done alone.

Now that I’m older I don’t do that anymore cause if soap doesn’t do it then the steam from the dishwasher will cover it.

Some of the people that replied said they wouldn’t eat at people’s houses if they didn’t use bleach. Others are saying people who don’t do it weren’t raised right.

Is it really necessary tho?

I know for food industry we have to sanitize the dishes with this solution but I never thought I needed to do it at home.
