Would you take your 8 week old to birthday party?

So my best friend is having her sons birthday party at a trampoline jump party venue and my son is only 8 weeks and he hasn’t gotten his first shots. My husband says I’ll feel bad for not going but I’ll feel worse if our son gets sick. what would you do would you take your child or skip it?

I would take him..just don't let anyone hold him if you're worried. Germs are everywhere..grocery stores, shops, etc.

It’s RSV and flu season and you can’t know the immunization status of everyone at the party.  I’m a pedi ICU RN and please, just don’t.  Have your s/o watch the baby and you go if you really want, but please do not expose your newborn

I wouldn’t personally because of the season. If it was June I probably would.

If you think a lot of the people there are going to want to hold him and see him then I would skip it, your friend has a kid, she will understand. If you think people will give you your space, go for it. Just don't be afraid to tell people no if they ask to hold him.

Thanks everyone! The party was 2 hours away that’s why it was a hard decision for me to make we opted out and I felt better when we decided not to

My son is 3 weeks and we are going to a friends for a superbowl party. There will be like 4 kids there. We are going. And I'm sure he will be held. I know they're all healthy and I have a kid in school that brings germs home every day.

My baby was during the holidays, so I took mines out a lot and let everyone adult that ask, hold her, i did  stay away from people or kids that had a cold even her dad had to stay over his aunti house when he had a cold lol no joke

It wouldn’t even cross my mind not to go. He is 8 weeks and it will be good for both of you to get out. Just enjoy yourselves!

Use your mommy instincts first and for most.. all of us will have different opinions based on how we are or will be with our children and this little one is your child.. you got this just decide what you think the best decision is for you and your child
