Coffee while breast feeding?

Hi mommas! I’m curious here. Who drinks coffee and nurses/pumps? I feel like my life would be a lot easier some days if I could have a cup of coffee on days I’m so tired ! I don’t drink it just because of the caffeine. I feel like it would make my LO stay up more at night ? What’s your thoughts?

Ummm I’ve been drinking coffee the entire pregnancy and now while breastfeeding. How do you not have caffeine with a newborn ???? 😫 give me ur secrets lol! My baby girl is 4 months and I def need caffeine!!!!!

Yep! I drink two cups of coffee every morning. One when we first wake up and the second when she goes down for morning nap so I can actually really enjoy and savor it!  ☕️ 😊

Unless you’re an extreme coffee drinker then you’re fine. I have one cup a day in the morning but I also drink other caffeinated drinks. Doesn’t affect my daughters behavior or sleep. Have to coffee for! Baby will be much happier when mommy’s happier 😊

You can have 300mg of caffeine while breastfeeding. :) but to be on the safe side I always drink as much water as I did coffee when I have it .

I drink a cup of coffee daily and my little guy is 9 months old. I did the same with my oldest, who I bfed for 12.5 months. Hell, if it’s not hot anymore I’ll drink it while breastfeeding! (He randomly sticks his hand out from time to time while nursing so I can’t risk spilling a hot drink!!!)

You can absolutely have coffee! Depending on the article you should not exceed three or five cups a day, but otherwise it is fine in moderation. I've had no issues whatsoever, and I'm typically paranoid about these things. Baby sleeps well and has no problems at all and I drink two mugs in the morning.

I steered clear of coffee in the first trimester, mostly because it didn’t appeal to me, but once the nausea went away, I went back to my regular coffee consumption, about 2-3 cups a day 🤷🏼‍♀️ I drink the same amount while breastfeeding and it doesn’t seem to affect my son at all. My mother-in-law brought me my favorite drink from my favorite coffee shop the morning after I gave birth, it was divine. The nurse kind of looked at me like she didn’t approve, but she didn’t say anything. Whatever, lady, I was so wired after having him that I only slept maybe 3 hours that first night. Bring on the coffee!
