Is having a newborn in the winter any harder?

Question

My daughter was born in early October when it was still warm and we could easily leave the house without worrying about germs and sickness. Is it different with winter newborns? Like would I have to be stuck in the house all week to prevent anything. (Not saying it’s bad. I would put my baby first of course) just trying to plan baby #2/figure out when I want to start TTC. Weighing out pros and cons of winter newborn vs spring newborn. Any input is appreciated 💗

I wouldn’t recommend it. The flu is very real. I was so paranoid about having such a small baby in the middle of flu season. The weather doesn’t let you go out and enjoy being outdoors and you have to keep baby bundled up.

My son was born in December. We went out 4 days after he was born. I didn’t let anyone I didn’t know touch him and I dressed him warm. It was fine for us.

My best friend just had her born on the 19th. Weather has been horrid, but she said she’s glad it’s like this when she has her maternity leave and doesn’t have to do anything 🤷🏼‍♀️

What? Keep your baby bundles and keep your car seat covered when you go out. Having a baby in winter is GREAT. by the time summer come around there’s more things to do with them and they’re more aware ❤️

My son was born Jan 2018.  No  problems. This winter I'm confused what to dress him in to keep warm as last year in his car seat it was put him in  a onsie and sleeper. Put a blanket on him and he had a winter carseat  cover.

My baby was born january. It wasnt bad nor did she get sick. We bundled her up alottt leaving hospital. You just gotta make sure they stay warm really. And clean. But theres no pros and cons its a baby. Have a baby in the winter or dont its not a checklist girl.

My first was born December 2016. We wouldn’t have went out anyway, so it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience for us. #2 is due the end of June and I have no idea what I’ll do with a summer baby 🤣

My son was born mid-december. It was quite a mild winter weather-wise. Yes, it took a lot of time to put all the layers on him and then sometimes he pooped or became hungry before we left... So leaving the house took us forever 😂 I took him out in the stroller for walks and in a baby carrier when we went to a doctor, to see friends, etc., that way he was warm on my body. I wasn’t very worried about germs and stuff, but it took me time to put my life with a newborn together and heal from birth, so by the time I was ready to have visitors over or take the baby somewhere in public, he was almost a month old. When he begun to be interested in the world, it was spring already and the hardest time was behind us. So I can’t really complain! Other pros: You’re not super pregnant in the summer, it’s dark and cold anyway so you don’t feel like you’re missing out or should be doing something when you’re huge and tired or hurting from birth. Cons: baby’s birthday is close to Christmas, some people have a problem with winter maternity clothes (not my case, I wore an oversized coat till the end), you never know if baby is warm enough or too warm or cold, it’s dark early so only limited time for walks and then what to do with a newborn all evening? My second will be born in July so I’m really curious what it’s gonna be like 🙂
