Lactation cookies before baby to ensure breast milk????

Question

I'm afraid I'm not going to produce enough milk. My colostrum came in at 13 weeks and both my mom and sister produced an excessive amount of milk but it's just something at the back of my mind.  Should I start eating things that will make it come in I have found several bomb recipes for lactation cookies. I'll be 38 weeks Tuesday and being induced on Feb 13th. I just want to make sure I'm producing eniugh

Only 2% of all women can’t produce enough milk. The problem is really lack of education about breastfeeding. Many women mistakenly think they’re not making enough milk because their breasts aren’t hard anymore or because they don’t feel a let down anymore or because their baby cluster feeds (all Normal things!)

Supplements are not necessary to be able to produce milk. They definitely won’t do anything before baby is here since your milk doesn’t come in until after the placenta detached from the uterus. The best thing for hour supply is to let baby latch as often and for as long as they want to. I’ve been EBF with an oversupply for 9 months and have never taken or eaten any kind of lactation supplements.

It isn’t going to do anything. Lactation supplements are for immediate lactation support—typically working in 4-6 hours. If your family had no issues with milk, it will be very unlikely that you will have issues with milk. Let yourself rest and give yourself a break. And latch that baby in the first hour they are born, and feed on demand or at least every 2 hours for several weeks!

It's not.going to do much at this point. Latching the baby often is going to insure your supply. Every 2 hrs the first couple weeks. Exhausting and painful sometimes but worth it.

Id wait til after baby is born to see how it goes. And just because your mom and sister produced a lot doesnt mean anything honestly. Its about what your intake is and water. Talk to the nurses and lactation consultant at the hospital after baby is born.
