Military ball gown inspo?

Going to an Air Force one and I really need some inspiration. I’m 5’0, and I always see women wearing LONG gowns, but I can’t wear one because I always trip in them. I don’t think it’s appropriate to wear a short dress either. Here’s the dress I was planning on wearing, but I don’t know if I can get it hemmed in time.

The short dress wouldnt be appropriate. Long dress is great, but if its too long just get it tailored. Find a local who could do it like over a weekend.

the long one is much nicer. do not wear the short dress, especially not if it's all bedazzled like that.. it looks more like a club dress than a ball dress. think classy! I'm doing a long dress with long sleeves for hubby's upcoming JAG ball

The short dress look like a bachelorette clubbing dress 🤷🏼‍♀️ the black one is beautiful and mrs along the lines of what you need to wear to a military ball. Keep the bling to a minimum, preferably not on the dress.

Don’t go short. Look for something in petite sizes so you don’t have to hem it, or find a place that can hem something quickly.

As long as you like the dress and it doesn’t look like you’re going to a club, just wear whatever you like  Fashion nova is pretty good about keeping a fair length. I got both mine below on it and wore heels and was fine. Both to each of our military holiday parties (we don’t go to the ball since they’re special request). I wore a ball gown that was low cut with a side slit to the marine core ball when I was dating a marine before I met my now husband. Trust me, there’s a lot of girls that don’t dress to be appropriate.
