We’ve only been dating for 3 1/2 months.. and we are 15

Not to be rude, but “I love you” is a strong statement and it’s not a statement you toss around. Many teens don’t have the concept of love, they have have crushes and sometimes believe that the boy they date in high school is their one true love and that’s not always the case. 
When contemplating on making something serious, one must ask themselves “Am I ready to commit to this person? Do they have future goals in correlation with mine? Am I willing to give this person a certain level of attention? Will this relationship surpass beyond high school?” 
I never said “I love you” in high school because I didn’t love them, I strongly liked them, but not enough to answer the questions to justify saying it. It was high school and those relationships are like test drives to see and make your standards for future partners. 
I met my husband in college and I didn’t say I love you until a year and a half because I take things seriously. We had grounded communication, he had a job and so did I, our future goals were in correlation with each other. He knew what he wanted and so did I. I also saved myself (virginity) for marriage, because he had to earn my respect, my mind, and me. I knew my worth and value and he had to show that he understood that, which he did. 
“I love you” comes with many things that teenagers don’t consider because they are so young. Sometimes it can crush them because they break up or don’t take the relationship as seriously as the other partner. Some tend to believe that “I love you” means the same thing to the other partner as them and it doesn’t. Some find it awkward and say it back to prevent hurt feelings. 
So think before you, as a 15 year old, say something that carries a certain amount of weight and responsibility with it. You also want to make sure your partner is on the same level as you because he might not love you back and he might just say it to say it. After all, he’s a teenage boy and he’s still navigating through life same as you.

If you need to ask other people if you should say it, don’t. Only say it when you genuinely feel it and mean it, not just because that’s what you’re supposed to do in a relationship. 💕
