Nursing for 30 minutes to an hour?!

My baby is 2 1/2 weeks old and is eating for 30 minutes to and hour now. Half of that time she is just sucking and sleeping but if I unlatch her she gets fussy and acts hungry so I usually just let her nurse for as long as she wants to. I also use a nipple shield. Is this normal? Has anyone been through this? FTM so everything worries me.

Very normal. I use a nipple shield and my 5 week old still nurses for 30 minutes.

Yes.. My son still does this and he's over a month. He has been better about it, but if he really wants momma , he won't let go.. so I just let him lay there

You are in the middle of the 2-3week clusterfeeding period. Hang in there. Use nipple cream, and I’d sore a shield might be worth trying. 
there are mire cluster feeding periods/growth spurt to come;
