Twins only fussy at night?!

Hi! So my boys aren’t even quite a week old and they’re very small since they’re 36 weekers. My husband and I are having quite the time with them at night as they are crying more than sleeping and we do everything we can think of but it only ever soothes them for a few minutes. Does anyone else have these issues or know what I could possibly do to try and help them more :( we could all use some more sleep 😩

Mine were really fussy from like 3 weeks old until 8 weeks old. They would cry from 5 pm-11pm. It was insane. All I can say is that taking sleep shifts really helped in the early weeks. Hubby would take the 9 pm-2 am and I would take 2am-8am. It helped to get some constant sleep so we could deal with the crying better. Then he came back into the bedroom and haven't gotten more than 4 hours of steady sleep since. 
You can try gripe water, but it didnt really help us. My twins have always been super gassy and I know they have immature guts until at least 8 weeks old which makes them fussier. 
I breastfeed too so its not cause of formula or that I needed to switch. Good luck mama. It's really hard. Hope you can get some sleep.

I have to agree when you’re tired the fussiness seems more intense. As stated before sleep shifts help tremendously. In my experience it was the formula that made them extremely gassy and fussy. Probably adjustment period from being in NICU for 2 weeks as well. We were finally able to switch their formula at 4 weeks and it’s been way easier since then. The hardest weeks for me were the first 10-12. They are 4 months old now and only fuss when they are tired l. We still do sleep shifts since we have zero help. It’s just hubby and me. If we both try to stay up we end up irritated every time the boys wake up and don’t go right back to sleep after eating so we avoid falling off our sleep schedule as much as possible.

Just asking have u tried to let them just rock in the rocker with pacifier ?

In my case I think you’re more annoyed at night because you want to sleep and you notice it more... for me from 6pm till 9pm was HELL.
I’m so glad they are 15m!

Did they do nicu time ? My girls were born at 34 weeks and I found they had an adjustment period post nicu.
