When did everyone start pumping? How is it going? And how much are you pumping?

I’ve been over producing since 3 days pp. I HAD to pump, I was so engorged. I’ve been pumping once a day after a feed (usually around 2:00pm) to get some relief, plus I’m building up a supply for when I go back to work! Usually I collect about 3 oz (10 minutes each side) after I feed her. Not sure if what I’m doing is right, but I didn’t wanna just dump my milk. From what I’ve read, what I’m doing is fine. I’m going to ask her pediatrician at our appointment next Tuesday though. ☺️

Omg I feel like I’m dying. Pretty sure I’m rocking size F boobies now. 😂

I didn’t start pumping untill a week after birth due to pre eclampsia and being sick but now at a few days in I’m pumping 2-3 ounces every few hours and we were finally able to get little guy to latch and feed but we’re still having to supplement for now but we’re getting there 🤷🏻‍♀️

I started in the hospital. I’m pumping 4-5oz every time I pump. I also breastfeed.

Started at 4 days PP. I pump once in the AM and once in the PM. I use milk catchers throughout the day. At almost 4 weeks PP now I freeze about 4-5 6 oz. Bags per day and a 3.5 ounces bottle for my little guy. So roughly 33 ounces a day pumped. Note that I breastfeed and this is just to prep baby for when I go back to work (the one bottle a day) and to have a stash. I go back at 12 weeks.

Figure I might as well make good use of my (historically) oversupply of milk!

You still have plenty of time! I will mention that I did not pump this much first time around, but this time I plan to help supplement a friend's baby due in a few weeks. So I want enough for her baby and mine.

I started pumping a few days PP. I've been pumping after every feeding since then. My son was born small and has trouble getting enough to eat while breastfeeding so he's been taking a bottle after BFing since he was a week old. At 5 weeks he's just now starting to get almost his recommended amount per feeding with just the breast so I've been starting to save the milk for when I go back to work. Typically after he feeds I pump between 60 and 100mls.

I've been pumping since day 3 (on Day 8 right now) because of overproduction and engorgement. I only pump once a day, though, because I don't want to make it worse and be in even more pain. I pump about 6 ounces, and then divide the milk into storage bags, about 50-70ml per bag. It's better to have your milk stored in smaller amounts so you don't end up wasting any. With my first I'd have 5-6 ounces in one bag and sometimes he wouldn't finish the bottle so i'd end up throwing out an ounce or so and that hurt my heart lol

I’m terrified to start pumping because I am leaking 2-2.5oz from one boob every feeding
