My last appointment I was 4cm 80% effaced at 37 weeks. And my doctor tells me doesn't mean much. See you next week. I wanted to cry. Lol. I gotta walk around like there is a ticking time bomb waiting to fall out of me. With my first I had him on his due date.

I’ve been dilated to a 2 and he has been dropped for weeks, probably around 36 weeks. I am not almost 39. Unfortunately you can dilated/effaced/baby dropped for weeks before labor starts. I was really hoping my little guy would be here by now but he has other plans apparently.
