I used a $1 store test 5 days after my missed period.

12dpo. That’s also the earliest I ever tested so I don’t know if I would have gotten a positive earlier than that

I used a dollar tree test 17 DPO and it came up positive right away. My period was 3 days late at that point. I never tested before that day so I’m not sure when it would’ve shown up as positive though
