What exactly is PROZAC used for? Someone I know mentioned that they were taking it. I know it’s like an antidepressant, is that what it’s mainly used for? Also what is the usual dosage? Like how many are you allowed to take in one day? I heard them say they took 3 in an 8 hr period

It’s an anti depressant. The dosage depends on the person & their doctor. Not much too it other than it’s usually used to treat primarily depressive disorders but I’m sure it is also used to treat anxiety disorders

Depression, anxiety, OCD, etc. are all reasons to be prescribed Prozac. Dosage depends on many things. The pills come in different dosage strengths. So if someone takes a weaker pill they may take it 2-3 times a day vs someone who takes a stronger pill 1-2 times a day. If you feel that this person is abusing meds you need to access the situation and either speak with them or their family.
