Is anyone else's baby STILL not sleeping through the night????

I am sooooo tired.... I feel like I have tried everything. The biggest issues is my son's metabolism is so fast, milk does not stay on his belly more than 2 hours. I am going to ask the doctor if I can add a little rice cereal to his milk. He currently is breastfed and gets 8oz of formula a day.

It’s rare for a 2 month old to sleep through the night. Most babies don’t start sleeping through the night till 4-6 months because that’s when you start introducing solids.

He hasnt got a fast metabolism. Babies stomachs are small so need to feed often. Breastfed babies digest food even quicker so need to feed even more often.

My LO just turned 7 weeks. Up until 6 weeks he wouldn’t stay asleep longer than 2 hrs. Since the 6 weeks mark he has been giving my some stretches of 3 or 4 hours which feel like a God send! But at 7 weeks now I say his new average is about 3 hrs in between feeding sessions. It’s still rare for me to get a 4 hr stretch. So I would say your LO is pretty normal. I’m also EBF.

My guy is 8 weeks and wakes every 3-3.5 hours to eat which I think is pretty standard. Exclusively breast fed.

It’s very rare for LOs that are that young to sleep all night! Also I have heard since I had my first almost 5 years ago that rice cereal is not recommended in the bottle and especially not before 4-6 months! Hang in their momma, this phase isn’t forever!

I hear you, and I feel your insomnia— I’m sorry you/we aren’t sleeping yet. My boy just turned 8 weeks and can’t sleep more than 3 hours. He cluster feeds on and off for 4 hours every evening and still only sleeps for 3 hours, then about 1.5 hour stretches after that. We log about 5 hours breastfeeding in a 24 hour period. We do a simple bedtime routine at 7:30pm (jammies, massage, cuddles), and he usually keeps eating until 9pm. Everyone keeps telling me 2 months is a turning point but we’ll see.

My 7 week old was only sleeping in 2 1/2-3 hour stretches at night, even swaddled. However, during the day when he would be napping on me on his belly he would sleep for 4 or 5 hour stretches. So this week we started an experiment...against all the mommy rules... I have been letting him sleep on his tummy, in bed next to mommy. He has slept in two 6 hour stretches all week. He does roll himself to his side and looks for me when he wakes up. I'm too nervous to let him sleep on his tummy in his own crib until he can completely roll over and even then I'm not sure I will let him. But the sleep has been nice.
