Would you be bothered by this?

So, my boyfriend of 4 years has an ex from when he was in high school who’s just remained a friend to him and his family - I have no issue with that. I would like to meet her though, since it doesn’t seem like she’s a threat but if she’s still occasionally part of his life it’d be nice to know who she is. That being said, he just also told me that she still has a nickname for him - she calls him SB (short for snuggle bunny) and asked if that was a problem. I obviously said yes and that he needs to tell her to quit calling him that whenever they talk again. 
He agreed to tell her and isn’t gonna disrespect me by allowing that - but it bothers me that he didn’t tell her to begin with and had to ask me if I had a problem with it first... would you be bothered by this? Even though she’s just a platonic friend at this point?

No because he thought enough about it to ask your opinion of it. It became normal for him, so he didn't really realize what that would be like for you,then he did so he asked

i wouldn’t like the nickname and i would wanna meet her as well. other than that it sounds like he’s been upfront about everything so i wouldn’t worry too much, that said some men are trash so it’s up to you to decide if he is strong of character and loyal.

No I wouldn’t. He asked you which shows how much he loved and respects you. Guys are dumb(simply put lol) they don’t understand why things bother us women. He probably thought it’s just a nickname no biggie. By him asking you it shows he’s thinking about your feelings. Let it go and be thankful you have a man who does- some of these posts here show guys straight up disrespecting their significant others and they girls still question being with them! Don’t think about it! As long as she stops with the nickname it should be ok!

I wouldn’t be bothered at all. It was high school. People have pasts, and some have previous past relationships that were better for them in the friend zone. He can have friendships with women and still respect the relationship. He respected you enough to ask you. Some don’t ask right at the beginning of a relationship because some relationships don’t last long. His family likes her and that’s ok as well. She isn’t a threat, she’s just a good friend. I wouldn’t be upset because my husband had a pet name from a high school relationship. I would meet his female friend as well but I would also know that I’m my husbands #1 priority, so it wouldn’t bother me, but that’s just me. I tend to look at things differently a little bit. I see high school relationships as a testing runway that will help you determine your standards and expectations for later in life. 
He’s been honest with you and that’s a good trait and he’s also willing to let his friend know that the pet name isn’t ok. 
But you’re his girlfriend NOW. The past doesn’t matter. You’re his priority now and he’s letting you know that. Maybe you will really like this friend and become good friends with her.

If I’m being honest, I would be bothered by the entire situation. It’s great that he is honest and upfront with everything. I think that it’s kinda disrespectful to still talk to your ex when you’re in a relationship though, unless they have children together. And it’s not that you should feel threatened by it, it’s more so the fact that he had sex with her and told her he loved her at one point and she’s still in his life. That’s just weird to me personally, but as long as your comfortable with that then that is fine. Like I said it’s great that he’s been upfront about everything. Make sure to tell him how you feel, you have every right to be upset about it hun.
