Will i have hyperthyroidism for life?

I got diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism last week. Im 24 and going today to my doctors appointment for it to get meds or whatever.. will i have it for life???? Or jusy for awhile ?

I have hypothyroidism and I was born with it (I’m 16 now). Go to your doctor and get the meds. TAKE THEM EVERYDAY!!!! I will have mine for the rest of my life but I can’t speak to anyone else. I would think you would have it the rest of your life, though. Just do your research or ask your doctor!

My sister has it but it went into remission for years

Yes you will. Sometimes there's things like radioactive implants they put in your thyroid if it's really severe and that really gets rid of it because it kills the thyroid so you get hypothyroidism instead 😂
