I was with a man who verbally and emotionally abused me but in the relationship..i didnt even know I was an abuse victim. I was one of thoes girls who always said "I'm too smart to ever be with an abusive man. I'd just leave" but I didnt. I continued to let him call me names and insult me. I would tolerate his yelling snd blaming me for everything. Only doing sexual things he wanted...nothing was ever about me, it was always about him. Sad thing was he broke up with me and I tried to convince him to take me back. But then after awhile I realized I had been in an abusive relationship and I deserved better than that. I never spoke to him again or had any contact.

My husband and I had to go to counseling and that helped us tremendously but he definitely was taking some things out on me a year into our relationship that were not my fault. Things are better now but we have to be mindful of how we talk to each other
