Breast Engorgement

Amber

Hi so with a 7 year old, 2 year old (both girls) at home and just having twin boys at 36 weeks with them weighing only 5lbs each, I decided not to breastfeed after the first day since both my little ones were having issues and not wanting to latch or eat so telling them I was only going to do formula was the only way I could get it since I knew if I let them go below 5 lbs they’d go to the NICU. So I switched to formula and they finally started drinking and they took more with each time. But 2 days after I got home, my milk came in and my boobs feel like boulders. I’m doing the cabbage leaves and a few other things but I can’t get it to ease up. Does anyone know if it just goes away after a couple days or know of any special things I can do to get them to dry up faster?

Peppermint, menthol cough drops, benadryl, super tight bras, ice packs, and expressing the tiniest amount to ease the pain

Anything with decongestant and antihistamines can help dry you up

Have someone hold a towel tight around you for atleast 5 minute a day. That should help also if you can bare it wear tighter bras
