False or true labor??

Last night my husband and I had sex around 10:30 but I didn't orgasm and it wasn't rough. At 11:30 contractions started. I had a little cramping after but when I went down to get a snack it kind of hit me. I also had radiating back pain during contractions. They got more intense on their own and we're coming 3-5 min apart. I was told not to go in unless I absolutely couldn't walk or talk through them so I waited. My son woke up crying and I went in for about 30 minutes to try and get him to sleep which was pretty stressful so I think i may have stalled contractions a little? I finally went to bed after he was asleep and then contractions started again. I decided to try and sleep although I woke up several times last night. Now it's the early AM and I'm still having them with pain (most like severe cramps) but it's not getting excruciating. Please help I have no idea what's going on!!
