Cold sores are a form of herpes . Hsv-1, means you carry the herpes simplex virus. I have got them since 7th grade. So i guess they can develop anytime.

You pretty get them by swapping sylvia or "sharing germs" with someone while the have the active virus. Once you get them, you will have the virus for the rest of your life. It can lie dormant. And seem to be biting my lip a lot, the wounded skin heals, but a cold sore will come up. You can get this from kissing someone who has it, sharing drinks, etc. I am pretty sure I got it from my mom. My family shares pretty much everything. From drinks to lip products. So it was highly possible.
