Why would you want to change it? it's beautiful i love that color. I miss dying my hair  pink haha. But it depends if you want to go light then yes you'd have to bleach it. But if you're going back dark no, just get tge next shade up so you know the color will take over the lighter parts as your roots wouldn't be light due to your natural hair color.
