When can you STOP waking your baby to nurse?

My LO is well above his birth weight. When can I stop waking him up to nurse?

I never bothered my daughter wouldn't eat and just went back to sleep.
She woke up if she was hungry.
I'd say if your baby is above birth weight then I would let him sleep.
But If your worried try waiting an extra hour to you wake him for a week then steadily increase it each week till you find he wakes up by himself.

So most people say don’t wake a sleeping baby but my baby was napping all day and partying all night and my husband and I couldn’t get any sleep! So now during the day I wake him up if it’s been more than 3 hours since he last ate (he is 4 weeks) and let him sleep as long as he wants at night. Now we usually get a solid 5 hours of sleep from 10pm - 3am and it has been great! I’d recommend it if your baby has day / night confusion.

As soon as they’re back up at birth weight you don’t need to wake them up for a feed. My daughter was back up at birth weight by the end of the first week, and after that she woke herself up naturally when she was hungry.

When they are double their birth weight.  And then baby will wake up when hungry

I never woke my babies up, they had high birth weights and gained fine, woke up themselves if they were hungry but I never put them on a certain schedule.

Forget about schedules! Feed baby on demand. If they are asleep no need to wake them up!
