How many blankets do you really need?

I have two swaddle me, one aiden and Annias swaddle wrap, and two muslin swaddles and one armless sleep sack from carter’s. My baby will be born late March / early April. I live in the Midwest. Is this enough?

I think its more than enough, the swaddles and sleep sack you’ll have to experiment with your baby might love it - or hate it, so I wouldn’t go crazy with those until you know for sure.  The blankets can be used for many things like the other moms said.  If you’re referring to a registry you most likely won’t get all of them, so don’t stress.  If you already bought I’d wait to see how you use them 😊

It’s really a personal preference thing and it also depends on what your baby will tolerate. My daughter hated being swaddled from day 1 so we really didn’t use any type of swaddle blankets or anything so they were kind of a waste for us. I preferred using more fleece blankets than the muslin since they’re so much warmer. My son was swaddled for about forever and a half though but again the muslin blankets were never my fav. I LOVE the halo swaddle sacks and I think we had maybe 5 of those. I got a ton of the muslin swaddle blankets at my baby shower and as gifts after I gave birth and my kids love using them as capes now at 5 & 3 but they were pretty much useless for me during the baby years. What you have is probably just fine until you can figure out what works best and then you can get more of whatever that ends up being. Good luck!

Depends on a lot. First it depends on if your baby even likes being swaddled. We had so many swaddle blankets and my son has hated be swaddled since day one, we use them for burp cloths instead. The second is how much your kid is going to spit up and you need to change the swaddle.

I was always very glad to have lots of receiving blankets. They are fantastic for everything! 
I swaddled using blankets. I didn’t  specifically buy swaddles. I was given one, and I hated using it and my boys hated being in it.

We have SOOOO many muslin blankets I’ve lost track.  My son still carries one almost everywhere and there is one for the car, his bed, his backpack...I don’t know if there is a limit, he’ll eventually grow out of it and we can get rid of them down the road.

I have a lot more than that because they spit up etc. I'd get a bunch of cheap receiving blankets (they're very useful for spit ups/burps, changing baby on it) and 2 or 3 more muslin blankets.

Depends on what you use then for.  I used the aiden and anis swaddles as burp clothes (which they are amazing for) all I had like 12, since my daughter had reflux.
