Little background information, I’m American & Portuguese. My boyfriend is straight Puerto Rican & moved to from there a few years ago. Me and my boyfriend have been having problems since having my daughter because he’s doing nothing. No job. Not taking care of the baby. Barely will wake up at night. Complains about washing her bottles when that’s ALL he does. He plays on his xbox all day and night and refuses to get a job. His mom enables him. The last time I’ve talked to her about it she said “that’s your daughter” I’m fully aware she’s my daughter!! I’m financially and physically supporting my daughter without the help of your damn son. In her eyes her son does no wrong & it’s me. I should be cooking, cleaning, taking care of my daughter and her son. I even give this kid my car to go get a job. I pay my car insurance. Anyways we do argue a bit because of this. Well today, DCYF comes knocking on our door saying there’s a report ON ME. ON ME?!!!! there’s concerns of me arguing in front of my baby and the whole nine. Long story short the women said she isn’t concerned and she had to come here to check things out and just to not argue in front of the baby. Anyways idk what to do.. now I’m scared his family will make up lies to get custody of my baby.. she already try’s and makes me go by her rules with my baby by telling me i need to wash my baby every night (she’s a month mine you) that her dry skin will get her sick?? Like it’s okay to have your cultural beliefs but don’t make me go by it with MY daughter!!! Then have the nerve to go make a report on me when YOUR sons doing nothing for our family and it’s MY FAULT BECAUSE I BITCH ABOUT IT?!! I need help honestly on what to do..? Now I’m scared she’ll make up some lies to get my baby taken from me. Unfortunately I’m not in a position to just up and leave her house so what can i do from here?
