Probably a dumb question but are C sections selective?

Can somebody request a c section? I am not pregnant but hopefully I am soon! Just wondering. Thanks!

I would never request a csection. The recovery is much worse than a vaginal and it’s traumatizing. You also get a scar on your stomach for the rest of your life.

Answering your question, yes, c-section can be elective whatever your personal reason for it is. Talk to your doctor he/she can guide you better than anybody is an app

They can be! Scheduled c-section is a lot better than emergency c-section. I’ve had both and it’s not as horrible as people make it seem. Complications can happen but it can also happen with vaginal birth. Talk to your doctor and make the best decision for you and your baby.

I had an elective C because I wanted one.  My Dr was totally fine with it and no issues at all with insurance.  My experience was great and recovery was easy for me.  If you have any questions I’d be happy to answer.

I wanted c section when I had my daughter at 18. Found out afterwards she would of got stuck if I tried vaginally anyway. I had a great experience, healed quickly. Cant even see my scar.

Depends on your reason none of mine where elective but I'm fixing to have my 4th in june for me the thought of it scares me more then the actual surgery o and I absolutely hate the shot in the back the waiting to have feeling in your legs really sucks and so does the first time you walk after the c-section it feels unnatural I only had to take pain meds with my 3rd child at home anyways once your on the table after the shot you just find a happy place to think of and wait to hear your baby cry but everything leading up to it terrifies me laying there waiting to hear my baby is the only part that I can find anytime to breathe but I'm still not relaxed until the end

I personally chose to have a c-section with general anesthesia (general anesthesia wasn’t my choice; my neck and lower back are fused)  ,I had over 50 surgeries from my brain to my pinky toes including 2 tummy tucks which are very similar to c-section 🤷🏼‍♀️ my next 2 kids will be ONLY via C-Section, I wouldn’t choose no other way. To me its super easy and painless. I slept on my sides the same day and on my stomach the day after. On a scale 1-10 (the pain out of all the surgeries I had) , its 1.

I am choosing to have a c-section for safety reasons. I had one the first time because baby was breech and water was leaking. I chose not to try VBAC and my doctor fully supports me. She examined me and said that she's not sure I could push a baby out anyways with my anatomy. I also have placenta previa this time around so it's the best option.
