Is your newborn supposed to spit up after every meal?

When I burp him. If he doesn’t puke or spit up, is that okay? Can I put him down to rest after trying to burp and it doesn’t happen. Or do i keep doing it till he does

No, they dont need to spit up every time it even at all. Just burp the baby and let her/him rest 😊

Its normal for a baby to spit up. The amount they spit up is what you should look for. Are they having spit up or are they puking half of their bottle out? If you are BF I wouldnt worry about it unless it is a significant amount being spewed. If your are FF you can try offering less formula with each feed to see if it helps. My daughter has acid reflux and has to take medication and have a formula made for reflux babies.

My son spit up about 1-3 times a week. He is now 13 months and hasn't spit up since he's been homo/formula mix. 🤷
 My mom said with my older sister she spit up alot. She tried many different formulas and none really agreed. My mom ended up on similac as that was the one my sister didn't spit up as much on.  
Every baby is different and they do react different to different brands of formula.

Have they been checked for lip or tongue ties?

My baby has only spit up once and hardly burps after a feeding. Hes breast fed but i do pump and use dr browns bottles and hold him upright when he eats so he gets less air in his tummy

Spitting up us normal during burping...but if there basically spitting up there whole that's not good .. but yes you should make sure they burp before laying them down..
