Can I ask my doctor to be induced?

Has anyone ever asked their doctor to be induced? My doctor had me wait until 41 weeks with my first and then I was induced but I really just want to ask if I can be induced at maybe 38-39 weeks. That way it’s planned, I have a babysitter for my daughter, and I know my doctor will be on call.

Most won't do it without a medical reason, and there is a reason for that. Birth is often less complicated if it starts on its own.

I asked to be induced due to spd with my 3rd my ob was fine with 38 weeks well she goes away on a family emergency and dont come back until my 40 week I was on endone for it. Shes like why u still pregnant i said no body wanted to induce as she hadn't wrote it down.
This one I said to my midwife I'm not going past 40 weeks so u can induce me as all mine have been 2 weeks overdue. There happy to do it at 39 weeks no less. But know bubs omo the big side so not sure what is going to happen

I asked my doctor, she told me that she’d happily induce me at 39 weeks.

You can ask. I can tell you that the hospital won’t let you be induced before 39 weeks unless it’s an emergency   
I’m being induced for GD and they wouldn’t let me do it the Friday I wanted because I would be 38 weeks 6 days 🙄. So I have to wait til the following Monday

I begged my doctor to induce me at 37 weeks. I have a broken pelvis and the pain is just too much some days... She said she wouldn’t do it until 39 weeks but that she would be happy to do it right on that day.

I’m getting induced at 38 weeks due to GD getting worse as time goes on. But we are still hoping due to genetics that I’ll go into spontaneous labor in the 37 weeks time frame. My doctor isn’t for inductions unless it’s absolutely necessary.

You can ask. My doctor said I can have an induction anytime once I hit 39 weeks and my cervix shows signs of being favorable for the process.  but she won't do it any earlier unless there is medical reasons, which makes sense.
