So for some background, I’m a young adult from Australia and I’ve recently found a new job within my towns small airport as a barista and left my old McDonald’s job

Now I was getting 30+ hours a week to begin with and was told when I did the interview I would get at least 15 hours a week

Well the first two months I got plenty of hours

Then I got really sick and ended up in hospital with a virus and small chest infection and was away from work for two weeks, I only work casual so I don’t get sick pay so I had to use some of my savings for medication

I got this job in hopes of moving out from my parents house and to become more independent

However I cannot get a license and drive because of my bad vision but the government won’t give me any disability payments so I pay for all my transport using my savings

My partner has been struggling to find a job and so I was able to help support him here and there but over this last month after I got sick work has cut my hours back majorly.

To the point where I’m only working 8 hours a week or non at all

I just don’t understand

I try my hardest to get things right but I feel as if I’m just constantly screwing everything up

Like heck I got yelled at for not making a “tea” properly after i made it how I got trained too

Now what makes it worse

My town just got a massive flood and even though my parents house was not in the flood zone, I couldn’t get to work because the roads were flooded and now there is mold all through the house I have to help clean

So I’ve lost money from not being able to go to work and my work place closing over a week

They are constantly telling me to go home early the second someone starts before me and I feel like they just don’t want me

I feel so insecure about it like I’m not good enough and they just want me gone half the time

I’ve only got qualifications in hospitality so far

I’m just not sure what to do

I feel so stuck right now

I don’t know how to move forward

I really would like a day time job that’s part time at least

But I don’t know how to get there :(

I just don’t know who or were I can talk to people anymore
