First scan-6 weeks-should I be worried?

Hi everyone I’m 6 weeks with our rainbow so a bag of nerves. I went for my first ultrasound today and the doctor said to come back in 2 weeks to check for a heartbeat. He said he can see the fetus but measuring smaller than expected so too early for heartbeat. I left there feeling more worried than I was going in. Scan is below..any feedback/advice/reassurance would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Sameee I went yesterday and was measuring 12 days behind... dr said I probably just ovulated late and will see me in two weeks. No idea how we are suppose to wait for two weeks!! So scared- you are not alone! It’s the worst but I guess we just need to try to stay positive and hope for the best. Baby dust to you and your little one!

I didn’t see a baby or a heartbeat at 6 weeks. I had to go back at 8 weeks and everything was fine

The only thing you can see at 6 weeks is the chamber in uterus. Nothing else. So don’t worry, it’s perfectly normal.

It just means you ovulated later. So you’re probably about 3 or 4 weeks. It’s not uncommon to not hear a heartbeat. Most offices don’t do ultrasounds until around 8 weeks.

UPDATE: after a loooooong 2 weeks I finally had my second scan today and saw and heard the heartbeat (158). Doctor said everything looks perfect. So relieved! Thank you for your advice ladies x

Same goes to me. It should be 7 weeks 4 days today but then the size shows 4 weeks. I need to go for 2nd scan 2 weeks later to see weather the embrio growing or not.

Did he say what the embryo was measuring? It looks really small on the ultrasound but that’s hard to tell from pictures. It’s not uncommon for dates to be a bit off. The heart beat can sometimes be detected a few days before 6 weeks, but that’s not always the case. So this can be a completely normal finding. I guess worst case scenario is baby isn’t growing right and does not have a heart beat due to that, but honestly you don’t have any reason to believe that at this point. I completely understand your worry, and I’m sorry you’re stressing. My coworker did an early ultrasound for me at around 6wk3d maybe (but baby was measuring a few days behind) and we *thought* we saw a flicker but it was hard to say for sure. A week later it was there. Praying for a good outcome for you too. ♥️
