Is Della a nice name for a girl?

So my gran was called Della and I’ve always loved the thought of calling a little girl it.
Now that I know I’m having a girl I’m panicking that it’s actually too old fashioned and not that pretty. Honest opinions appreciated

That generation of names is coming into fashion again, and I think it’s especially nice if it’s named after a relative. Both my kids have old fashioned names from ancestors and I love the link with family and tradition

Growing up my mom used to work with a lady who's name is Della. We would go over to her and her husband's home all thr time. 
I love it and it has a beautiful meaning to it. My great grandma's name was Viola and thats my youngest daughter's name. 
It doesn't really matter what any of us think though. If I were you and had my heart set on a specific name that's what I'd be naming my child. Also, like I said it has meaning behind it.

I’ve always thought it a beautiful name. The only place I’ve heard it before is the character from The Gift of the Magi. It’s one of those uncommon but not unusual pretty names that would also be easy to spell. 🙂

This was my husband's gransmother's name as well and I've had the Dane thoughts. I don't love it myself, so I've wondered if it's going to be coming back in the near future.
