I was really hoping NOT to have to deal with this but... here it goes. So originally my mom was going to throw my shower for me. I dont have any siblings and my best friend lives really far and cant come to the shower. Things changed and my mom's finances are preventing her from doing it. So I decided to do it myself. My husband suggested his mother to help and I declined because I didnt like what she did with my sister in laws shower. Also we want them to get bg us the travel system that is super expensive. While they are very well off I dont want them them to feel put out.

So I sent out the invitations and it starts. My mother in law called my husband last night and told him that she should have been involved the moment my mother couldn't do it. She is embarrassed because her sisters know now that we are doing it ourselves. 🙄😑🤨.

She offered to pay for the food but wants to pick where we go. We already budget the food out and like what we picked. I have all the decorations and my God sister is doing a whole dessert table for us. She now even wants to move the location 😳.

She is well meaning and has good intentions but I really dont want her to do anything. For one, I know I'm protecting my mom but for two she is just overbearing and I dont like that.

We are hoping that she will just give us the money for the food and let us order from the place we wanted. I love my mother in law, i just dont want her to do my baby shower. She is so touchy so idk how to tell her not to do too much.
