Miscarriage pain meds

Hi! I’m 5 weeks pregnant and while I shouldn’t think about this, part of my wants to be prepared if I have a miscarriage as I’m a bit older. I have heard a miscarriage can be very painful and wondering what pain meds work for people? Advil doesn’t seem to do much for me. Thanks

I had an early miscarriage and it was painful but not so bad I took anything. It was like really really bad period cramping.

I agree with above. You can’t have those thoughts, it’ll only make you feel depressed and everyday you get with that precious life is a blessing no matter what happens. I have had a MC and I’m not even 30, it happens to anyone.

Best advice, think positive thoughts. The worst stress you can put your body through is the constant worry of what if’s. Relax, affirm, think positively. — I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, it wasn’t any more painful than a really bad period (with lots of cramping). Aspirin/ibuprofen/midol, any of which worked fine. Don’t overthink it & please think happy thoughts!

Just stop over thinking. First off you can only take tylonel while pregnant.... and if it comes down to a miscarriage, your obgyn could possibly prescribe something if its a confirmed miscarriage.

I’d a missed miscarriage so had to take the medication. Strong cramps but nothing major when it came to pain. Never took any painkillers. Was at 11 weeks

I've had 2 miscarriages & I didnt take anything more than advil. It wasnt unbearable pain. Just enough to make me uncomfortable.

I've had 3 and I've always been prescribed meds to deal with it... But please stay positive and don't worry about this. It can add stress to your life

The first one I had no warning and I started bleeding heavily. The last two are a little different. I was suffering with hyperemesis and my body just couldn't handle it anymore

Thank you, I already am feeling really stressed about so much stuff! Can I ask do you know you are going to miscarry before it happens? As in are there signs so you can then go get the meds from your Dr? Thanks!

I’ve had 4 miscarriages and they were absolutely contractions, my Dr prescribe oxycodone and it didn’t help the final phase but helped with the mild cramps. It helped up to the last hour when it was pushing out. Everyone is different but my bff just experiences a loss and told me “those are not cramps!” The pain was real
